The children can learn facts about bullying, and read other kids’ opinions about it in the Kids Say section. There are games, contests, smart stuffs, vote on poll, and a section for parents and professionals.

On this site, the children learn to spot if they are the bullies or the victims, and find ways to stop it. The site promotes “Everyone Deserves Respect.”

You should introduce your child to this site if you suspect that your child is a part of this issue. It is not fun to be a victim or a bully!

It will definitely be a challenge for me since I work on the computer everyday! Maybe, writers/bloggers can be exempt from this challenge at least for a specific time. I can live without televisions, but using the computer is considered a must!

What Can We Do During The Turnoff Time?

Think back to good old days when we had no televisions or electronic gadgets. How did we live without them? What did we do for fun? How did our families survive?

Have Plenty of Play Time

Have plenty of activities on hands, and take your children to the library to pick out their favorite books. Suggest your children to pick out joke books, poem books, or magic books to put on a show for the family to enjoy.

Have Outdoor Meals

If weather permits, pack a meal, go to the park, and have a picnic. Getting away from home will be easier to avoid turning on television or game systems. Backyard is also a good place to have some fun!

Have Story Time

In the evening, gather the family together, and have one member read a story from the book he/she picked, or make up a story to tell. You can also dedicate the whole week to just one favorite chapter book, and take turn to read it every evening.

This is a great challenge to try incorporating into our busy lives, and help our children learn to get back to basics!

My son shares most of my interests! We suppose to buy a bag of food for his bunny, but we couldn’t stay on track when we see the birds’ cages.

This colorful bird can live up to 25 years. It’s very social and friendly. As soon as it sees the camera, it came closer for a look.

This beautiful bird is for sale at $650. It gave us a curious look as we tried to talk to it. I have not seen such a colorful bird so up close.

He came and hung side way on the metal bar to look at us. We were surprise to see how friendly this bird was to us.

Then he decided to just allow us to talk to him, took pictures and hung around on the metal bars. My son had a great time with this bird.

We ended up spending hours at the pet shop, but in the end we didn’t forget a bag of pellets for Albert. It was one of those days when going off track was really good for my soul.

This yellow canary is priced at one hundred dollars, and just so beautiful to watch! We never have a bird as pet, and at this price, I don’t think we will either.

This parakeet is so colorful, and is housed in a largest cage with many other parakeets. The price for this parakeet is much more affordable, but my heart would not be happy to watch the bird in a cage every day!

Last but not least on my son’s camera is this iguana! Iguana is a fascinating creature to watch, but to have it as a pet; I would not know how to handle it.

Though we spent more time in the pet shop than originally planned, I welcomed the little off track that my son seemed to provide every time we go somewhere. It is the break that I often needed to rejuvenate.

Late on Saturday, my daughter found a ride home from college. We were ecstatic that she could join us for Easter. Then on Sunday morning, the egg-fight began.

Sister’s egg got cracked first!

The battle ended, and little brother won in the first round!

Then it was my turn to battle the winner, and I knew that no one can crack my egg as soon as I picked it up, because it felt solid, and heavy. I’ve heard that the winner of the egg-fight is blessed until next year, and I certainly hope so.

He managed to zoom in on this bird, and capture the beautiful color of its feathers, and the orange colored ring around its eye!

I was waiting for the store owner to kick us out, and smiling the whole time as customers passed by us. They probably thought that we were crazy taking pictures of birds behind the glass cage, but my son has a mind of his own.

In my family, we color eggs, make a Easter basket, and have egg-fight on Easter Sunday. Though this year, there will only be me and my little boy, we still will carry on this tradition.

We manage to get this Easter bucket done, and it is now waiting for the real eggs to finish up! This project is very frugal since all the materials were bought at the Dollar Store. I manage to spend less than five dollars to make these two buckets for my son, and his little cousin!

I like doing small project with my boy. Well, he is not that small anymore, and this Easter bucket has become too “babyish” for him now..Next year, we will have to implement a new tradition to cope with his growing needs.

Can frustration leads to anger? What if you are just a little bit frustrated because someone misunderstood you, or saying things about you? This frustration can’t turn into anger!

In a recent encounter, I’ve experienced some frustrations with a colleague but it was not big enough to make me angry. I felt hurt because of what the person said about me. However, I apply this quote to my situation, and realize that if I use my heart to deal with people, the result is much greater!

These are my tulip leaves that didn’t get to turn green yet, but already golden brown! I wonder if they will survive this cold temperature and bloom.

On the other hand, these flowers are blooming! I think it is still too early for them, but they have to be the first any way. I love the smell of these flowers, but currently I can’t remember their name! It is one of those days when my mind is absent.

Here are some simple activities to carry out.

Read every day

Make it a daily routine! Whether you read to your children before bed time, or during an afternoon bonding nap, just give your children 20 minutes a day of being read to.

Read everywhere you go

Play a game of finding words whenever you are out. You can always find something to read at the store, the park, or the post office.

Be a reading role model

Children like to imitate their parents. If your children see you read, they will want to pick up a book to read too.

Visit your library regularly

Take your children to the library at least once a week, and let them explore different areas of the library. There are shelves of books for children to touch and enjoy.

When you provide experiences that enrich your children language development, and learning skills, they will grow up healthier and happier people.

Inhale Fresh Air

Fresh air should be included in your daily habits. Go outside every day and exercise your breathing, even if it is only for five minutes.

Eat Healthy and Balance Meals

Make sure to eat healthy and balanced meals every day. These meals should involve vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low in fat.

Exercise Your Body and Your Brain
As you give your body a vigorous exercise, don’t forget your brain. Do cross word puzzles, play video games to help keep your mind focus and sharp.

Have Plenty of Friends

Build a network of close friends! Friendship is as important as family. There are situations where you can only confine in your friends, and they can help you through your darkest time.

Get Your Sleep

Figure out the right amount of sleep for your needs. An average of seven to eight hours a night may produce longevity while five to six hours of sleep may shorten lifespans.

If you look at this list, you know that we already do these every day! Now you know we can have a longer life too. Isn’t it great?
